The Gospel story does not begin with a baby in a manger, but “In the beginning” with the sovereign King and Creator. We begin our trek through the life of Christ in the first chapter of John’s Gospel where he describes Jesus as the eternal Word of God which became a man to save us from our sin.

 

As we begin our trek through the life and teachings of Christ recorded in the 4 Gospels, we first take a look at these writings as historical documents and address some common notions critics of Christianity will often assert, namely that these are not actual historical accounts but more of a fable type writing
