The world we live in is exquisitely put together. The universe is improbably set up to allow for human life on planet earth. Just as the evidence shows that there must have been a beginning cause of the universe, there is also strong evidence that that cause must be highly intelligent.

As we begin to look at the evidence from nature that points to the conclusion that ‘yes indeed God exists,’ we take a look at the universe, the evidence of it’s beginnings and the implications that has for the question before us.

As we begin our look at the Doctrine of God, we take the time to examine the question of God’s existence. This first session lays the groundwork for how we will analyze evidence and see that God’s existence best explains what we see in the world around us.

As we wrap up our look at hermeneutics (the art and science of interpreting Scripture), we examine the different types of literary genres contained in the Bible and how they are to be considered when interpreting a verse or passage.
In our current Wednesday night study on hermeneutics, we are examining how we ought to approach the Bible to best understand God’s message. In this session we finish out the 5 steps we should take when interpreting Scripture, work through a few examples, and address some additional things we ought to consider as well.
In our current Wednesday evening study on Hermeneutics, as we consider how to rightly interpret Scripture the first step is to figure out what the text is saying. Before any interpretation can take place, we need to rightly understand what is being said.

Wednesday evening study by Pastor Marc on Hermeneutics (How to Study the Bible). In this first session we took a look at communication and interpretation in general and the importance of understanding someone or something correctly, especially if that someone is God and the message is the Holy Scripture.
This study is based on the resource “Herman Who?” by Todd Friel, available at Wretched Radio.
In our final session in our DOR series, we address how it is that these 27 books of the New Testament became the authoritative standard for Christianity.
In this session of our study we began to look at the question, “How is it that the 66 books of our Bible came to be the authoritative standard for Christianity?” Particularly we looked at the Old Testament, the Jewish Scripture, how they came to be considered the Word of God, and why we, as Christians accept them.
In this session of our study on God’s communication with mankind, we examine some challenges offered to the idea that the Bible is without error. There are some challenges offered or difficult passages that seem to indicate that the Bible does have errors. Obviously, a Bible with errors cannot be inerrant. How do we answer these challenges? Is the Bible inerrant, or is there something to these challenges and difficulties?
